Welcome to Ibo (2nd Grade):

My name is Miss Ghislain and I will be your 2nd grade teacher; I could not be more excited to start this year and get to know you and your families.  To be successful, diligence is a must! I also believe very strongly in keeping  open lines of communication. If ever a question arises please e-mail or call me. Please check the class website for any other questions you may have: http://new.schoolnotes.com/Ghislain/. I know with your help we will make this a year filled with enormous amounts of learning and your child will be reaching his or her educational potential.

To help make this a successful year in Ibo, I have included some important forms that will hopefully answer questions about the class. Once you have reviewed the packet and filled out the paperwork, please sign the slip below and have your child bring them back in by Friday 9/10/10! I look forward to a being a part of your child’s learning!

Sincerely yours,

Miss Jessica Ghislain

Homework packets will contain the following: weekly spelling words/activities, math review, reading, grammar and handwriting practice.  Special Projects will be assigned throughout the school year those specific directions including due dates and materials will be given at that time.

Our homework packets are thoughtfully put together to reinforce the lessons that are taught during the school day. Practicing at home will only make the student better. Homework is expected to be completed by the student every week.

Along with the packet at home reading is expected. We will be sending home a calendar to record your at home reading of 20 minutes a day. This reading can be done independently or together.
